The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
Besides being one of the top-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also created and performed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to Las Vegas, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was read more hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
